SCG International launches the Bang Sue Complex Microgrid Project to Boost Clean Energy Use and Advance Towards a Net Zero Society
In a groundbreaking initiative aimed at significantly enhancing clean energy utilization and taking a bold step towards a Net Zero society, SCG International has unveiled its cutting-edge ‘Microgrid Bang Sue Complex’ project. This pioneering effort is spearheaded by a team of SCG executives, including Wiroj Rattanachaisit, who leads SCG’s Smart Living Business and Distribution and Retail, alongside Abijit Dutta, Managing Director of SCG International Corporation. The project’s unveiling brought together influential figures such as Poonpat Loharjun, President of Evolt Technology, and Picharee Keeratithakul, Senior Innovation Developer at the National Innovation Agency (NIA), highlighting a collaborative effort towards sustainable innovation.
The centerpiece of this initiative is the integration of renewable energy technologies into the SCG Bang Sue Head Office, through the deployment of a solar-powered car park and state-of-the-art energy management software. This setup is designed with a production capacity of 735.9 kWp, aiming to escalate the usage of renewable energy at the Bang Sue Head Office from the current 10% to an impressive 18%.
Supported by the National Innovation Agency (NIA), the Bang Sue Complex Microgrid Project encompasses the latest in energy storage and control technologies. This represents an all-encompassing strategy for optimizing building energy management. An exciting feature of this project is the utilization of Evolt Technology’s electric vehicle charging points. These not only offer real-time insights into energy consumption but also facilitate dynamic load management through an advanced API system. This integration is key to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the microgrid system.
The initiation of the Bang Sue Complex Microgrid Project is a testament to SCG International’s commitment to fostering clean energy solutions and progressing towards a Net Zero society. The project not only aims to improve energy management flexibility across SCG’s diverse business compartments but also sets the stage for future collaborations with entities keen on promoting sustainable and green business practices. This effort underscores a collective movement towards a sustainable future, driven by innovation and a shared commitment to environmental stewardship.
