Boosting Investments and Strengthening International Bonds: Rajasthan’s Chief Minister on a Pivotal Visit to South Korea and Japan

Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Sets Sights on Boosting Investment with South Korea and Japan Visit

In a strategic move to enhance international investment in Rajasthan, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma is scheduled for a pivotal visit to South Korea and Japan. His journey begins with a brief stop in Delhi on Sunday before embarking on this significant six-day tour, starting Sunday evening.

The Chief Minister’s visit is designed to lay the groundwork for the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit 2024, which Rajasthan will host from December 9 to December 11. As part of the preparations, Sharma’s itinerary includes engagements aimed at strengthening ties with business leaders in South Korea and Japan, thereby setting the stage for potential investments in the state.

While in Delhi, Sharma will participate in an event at the Jodhpur House, after which he will proceed to his international engagements from September 9 to 14. The trip signifies a concerted effort on behalf of Rajasthan’s leadership to court investments across a broad spectrum of industries.

Of particular note is the Chief Minister’s participation in the ‘Neemrana Diwas’ celebrations in Japan. Neemrana in Rajasthan is marked by its Japanese Zone within the industrial sector of the Alwar district, a hub that hosts a variety of Japanese enterprises. This event underscores the existing ties between Rajasthan and Japan, highlighting the potential for further bilateral cooperation.

The visit to South Korea and Japan will not only be a ceremonial affair but also a practical mission to engage with executives from key industry segments. These include infrastructure, steel manufacturing, automobile, renewable energy, electronics, heavy industry, and the educational sector. The aim is to showcase Rajasthan as a prime destination for investment in these areas.

Representatives from prominent Japanese and Korean corporations such as POSCO International, Daikin, Hitachi, Beltekno, Samsung Healthcare, and Hanwha Solution are among those the delegation plans to meet. These meetings are seen as crucial steps in fostering a conducive environment for foreign direct investment in the state, promising to open new avenues for growth and development.

This initiative reflects the state government’s ambitious vision to not only attract foreign investment but also to cultivate a symbiotic relationship that benefits both Rajasthan and the investing entities. With the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ Global Investment Summit on the horizon, the Chief Minister’s visit to South Korea and Japan is a proactive measure to ensure the summit’s success and, by extension, the economic prosperity of Rajasthan.
