Atea Celebrated as a European Climate Leader for 2025
Atea has achieved a significant accolade by being named among Europe’s Climate Leaders for the year 2025. This recognition highlights Atea’s remarkable strides in reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions and marks the fourth occasion, and third in a consecutive series, that Atea’s efforts have been applauded since the inception of these prestigious rankings in 2021.
Atea’s ranking is based on an evaluation methodology that examines Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions intensities. These parameters are geared towards understanding emissions in direct relation to revenue generation during the period from 2018 to 2023. Additionally, the evaluation takes into account transparency and efficacy in managing Scope 3 emissions, which pertain to emissions occurring across the entire value chain. These assessments are bolstered by evaluations from prominent climate standards authorities such as the CDP and the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
“Receiving recognition for the fourth time as a Climate Leader in Europe underscores our dedication to combating climate change,” explained Steinar Sønsteby, the CEO of Atea. “We are eager to continue evolving our collaborations with customers and partners, striving to meet and exceed our emissions reduction goals.”
Atea has implemented several pivotal initiatives as a core part of its climate strategy, focusing on sustainability and innovation within the IT sector. These initiatives are integral in furthering the company’s objective to mitigate climate impacts and improve environmental footprints across operations and supply chains.
