Kickstarting Climate Conversations: Insights from Baku Climate Action Week

Baku Climate Action Week Kicks Off

The inaugural day of Baku Climate Action Week (BCAW) has commenced with an array of prominent figures in attendance. Among the participants are COP29’s high-level climate champion Nigar Arpadari, the designated COP29 President Mukhtar Babayev, members of the Organizing Committee, and various international guests.

Bridging an international perspective with a local focus, BCAW aims to unite key stakeholders from diverse sectors including politics, the private sector, finance, trade and investment, science and academia, arts and culture, civil society, and the media. This initiative serves as a pivotal moment to enhance the national dialogue and expedite climate action efforts within Azerbaijan.

BCAW endeavors to actively involve a wide spectrum of participants ranging from political and business leaders to local communities and youth. As an educational and motivational platform, BCAW addresses Azerbaijan’s current climate change challenges, highlights achievements in critical sectors such as oil and gas, and fosters regional and international partnerships.

This week-long event is designed to deepen conversations about sustainable development and climate resilience. By focusing on innovations and accomplishments, the forum will highlight ongoing initiatives and create opportunities for future collaborations.
