Odisha to Experience Slight Rainfall Tomorrow, MeT Issues Yellow Warning
In the midst of escalating temperatures across the region, Odisha is poised to receive a welcome respite with predictions of light to moderate rainfall slated for the coming days. The Regional Meteorological Department has identified a weather pattern that hints at impending precipitation for the area, offering a brief cooling period from the recent heat.
A cautionary yellow warning has been activated for several districts in anticipation of the expected weather conditions. As of today, six districts, namely Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Mayurbhanj, and Balasore, have been alerted to prepare for potential light rain showers. This advisory extends into tomorrow for two of these districts, Mayurbhanj and Balasore, where the chances of rain persist.
In the meanwhile, the state has been wrestling with searing temperatures. Malkangiri emerged as the hotspot on Saturday, with the mercury soaring to a significant 37 degrees Celsius. This trend wasn’t isolated, as 13 other locales across Odisha experienced daytime temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius, underscoring the state’s current battle with the heat.
Looking ahead, the forecast suggests a gradual escalation in temperatures, particularly in coastal and Western regions of Odisha. Predictive models indicate a potential rise in maximum temperatures by two to three degrees Celsius in several areas, signaling warmer days on the horizon.
The community is urged to stay informed on the weather developments and heed the advisories issued by the Meteorological Department. Precautions should be taken to mitigate the impact of the heat, especially in districts under the yellow warning, to ensure safety and well-being during this fluctuating weather period.
